Sacramento Chapter
Christmas Party
Once again, the Sacramento Chapter held their annual Christmas Party at the Hayes Antique Truck Museum. As has been done for the last four years, the Fairfield Chapter also participated in the planning and provided volunteers to help with the event.
While member attendance was down from previous years, our Affiliate Members were especially generous with their donations to the raffle. Both TCI Tires of West Sacramento and Les Schwab Tires each donated a set of steer tires and the Grand Prize for the raffle was a cruise to Mexico which was purchased by the Sacramento Chapter – thanks to a large donation from Network Truck Insurance. Also raffled were Satellite Radios, tools, DVD players, Christmas decorations and even a storage container from Tom’s House of Hydraulics. Proceeds from the party benefited:
Chicks In Crisis Incorporated - $1,000
Hayes Antique Truck Museum - $1,000
Coats for Kids Foundation - $127
Chapter Elections were also held with Jim Doherty being elected the new Chapter Chair. Outgoing Chapter Chair Barbara Smith was presented a plaque for her many years of service to the association.
As always, this event could not take place without the participation of so many. Ralph and Billie Barlow always see that the tables are decorated with poinsettias, while Tammi and Jim Swafford see to the decorations. And Rob McClernon ordered the great seasonal food from Rayna’s Catering. The chapter greatly appreciates those members who stay after to help with clean-up.
Thank you all,
Sacramento Chapter

Fairfield Chapter Participates in Wreaths Across America
Wreaths Across America began 15 years ago when a Worcester, Maine wreath company began a tradition of placing wreaths on the headstones of our Nations fallen heroes at Arlington National Cemetery.
The purpose of this project is to;
Remember the fallen;
Honor those who serve;
Teach our children the value of freedom.
When a local Solano County newspaper reported that only 230 wreaths had been placed on the graves at the new Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, the Fairfield Chapter of CDTOA quickly sprung into action. With a cash donation to the project to purchase more wreaths, the Chapter also provided a group of member volunteers to help place these wreaths on 1,800 additional graves at a touching ceremony on December 22, 2007.
For Fairfield Chapter Member Mark Ramey, this day had special meaning as his father Lowell Ramey had been laid to rest at the cemetery in 2006.
