Jerry Haworth had the concept of the scholarship program. He has supported the program with membership on the Scholarship Committee as Chairperson and later as member, then as Vice-Chair; then retirement. Dear Readers,
An inquiry regarding the death of a sponsor enacted the Scholarship Committee to adopt a new rule with regards to Continuing Students. All students who have received awards will be “grand-fathered” into our system. Therefore, should the original sponsor pass-away, the student will be allowed to apply for future awards using the same sponsor information.

Kelli Perluss (center) is the Scholarship Award Recipient of the first Jerry Haworth Founder’s Freshman Award ($2,250). Scholarship Committee members from left to right, Janice and Walt Dobbs, Betty Plowman, Patti Pirkle, Jake and Angel Raposa. Kelli was introduced and recognized for receiving one of the 2007 Freshman Scholarship Awards at the Summer Board Meeting in Rancho Mirage.
