Freashman Biography 2007

Goal:
After graduation, Kelli will be attending a four-year university where she will further her goal in becoming a Graphic Designer.

According to Kelli’s essay she will use her creativity and love for art to insure her success as a graphic designer. In pursuing her career choice, her college education will enable her to learn the many different interests of graphic design; not just focused on one specific trade. Instead, there are many matters involved, such as, photography, fine art, and animation.

In her high school education, two classes, fundamental art and design gave her a small insight about graphic design. Within the two classes, Kelli was able to draw, paint, use pictures and create all different sorts of artwork. In addition, in her keyboarding class she learned to type, construct web pages, and form other visual illustrations, e.g., a slide show.

With Kelli’s strong interest in all aspects of art design and her determination to further enhance her knowledge, success will be hers!

Ryan Spenser Stevenson

Goal:
Ryan has always had an interest in engineering and computer technology. He plans to attend Chico State to start a bachelor’s program in either civil or computer engineering. Ryan now interns for a local engineering firm involved in land surveying.

Ryan has been active in the Boy Scouts of America for several years. He recently attained the rank of Eagle Scout; the 150th Eagle Scout for BSA Troop 121. A newspaper article written about this occasion revealed that most of his friends and relatives call him by his middle name, ‘Spenser’

In his essay Spenser shares, he has completed many community service projects with the scouts, his church, and other organizations. These projects include, painting, yard maintenance, visiting the elderly, etc.

Stephanie Lynn Swan

Goal:
Stephanie’s career endeavor will start with attending UC Merced for four years. The next bridge is Dental School, perhaps, in California to pursue her goal of becoming a Dentist.

Two teachers from Beyer High School, in the Math Department gave Stephanie strong letters of recommendation and supported her quest of a scholarship award. In her words, an education means possibilities.

Stephanie’s determination to do well and her ability to extend herself when necessary make her an outstanding candidate for college. Her work ethic and the determination demonstrated in the past will certainly carry her in the difficult years ahead.

Jerry Haworth had the concept of the scholarship program. He has supported the program with membership on the Scholarship Committee as Chairperson and later as member, then as Vice-Chair; then retirement. Jerry is very proud of the honor bestowed upon him by naming an award after him.
