Saturday, December 10, 2005 another Christmas
Party that will go down in infamy. The Sacramento
Chapter partnered with the Fairfield Chapter again this
year in putting together another great party. Held for
the third year now at The Hayes Antique Truck Museum,
volunteers from both chapters put together a night of
great food, super raffle prizes, great company and fun
for all.
The Christmas Party Committee; Barbara Smith, Tammi
and Jim Swafford, Rob and Pat McClernon, Phyllis Pantone,
Keith and Carol Pruett, Ralph Barlow, Jim Doherty and
Betty Plowman made this years party one to remember.
Thanks to our many sponsors, the Raffle was over the
top. Kinnie Gallegos won the Grand Prize, a cruise donated
by Hooked on Travel of Sacramento. Some of the major
sponsors were Commercial Transportation Insurance, Network
Truck Insurance, Les Schwab Tires, Reliance Trailer
Sales, Holt Caterpillar, Sacramento Kenworth and Toms
House of Hydraulics, many thanks from all of us. Each
chapter honored one of their members by awarding plaques
to show appreciation for many years of support to CDTOA.
Sacramento Chapter honored Reno Zandenella for more
than thirty years of support. Fairfield Chapter honored
Larry Nusbaum for over twenty-six years of support.

The membership again chose to support Chics
in Crisis a non profit organization directed
by Inez Foat in Sacramento that supports single mothers
through food, shelter, clothing and counseling. We presented
Inez with a check for five hundred dollars and dozens
of childrens backpacks filled with gifts and school
supplies that our members donated. With the excellent
traditional Christmas dinner catered by Raynas
Catering of Sacramento, everyone left with full bellies
and big smiles after devouring a great dinner and most
all of the five desserts on hand. A special thanks to
Al Garcia with the Heidrick Ag/Hayes Antique Truck Museum
in Woodland for letting us rent the Museum again this
year.
Jakes Towing of Roseville with his new five-axle rotator
recovery vehicle put on a special demonstration. What
an impressive truck! Very special thanks to all who
attended and special thanks to those who stayed to help
clean up, Thanks again.
