One of Our Very Own

Dear CDTOA Members,

Well, it finally happened, my chance to meet Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. My sister Carol and I received a call late Monday night prior to Election Day and we were invited to meet the Governor at one of our local restaurants. This was not a publicized event; those who were called were told not to tell they had received the invitation and that only the press had been notified.

I took the latest copy of our “California Transportation News” and after shaking the Governors hand I told him that on behalf of the Dump Truck Owners in the State of California, I would like to personally thank him for signing our legislation, AB 2201. He then signed the cover of the magazine, which is already framed and now hanging in my office.

Now this was really cool, the Governor turned to introduce me to a local candidate he was joining in a fundraising who I already know and he said “I already know her” and I got a hug from him. You all know me well, so you can imagine how I continued to walk on air the rest of the day. Who couldn’t have experienced this without enjoying it?
