On November 29, we presented a conceptual draft letter for the governor to the board members of CIAQC asking for support to endorse our letter. Instead, all the members of the group agreed to not only endorse the letter, but actually draft a separate more detailed letter from all the members of the group. Plus, each member agreed to send a separate letter from their respective associations – all 8 members.

CIAQC’s Mike Lewis sent the three page letter with two related attachments to the governor on December 6. The letter is posted on our website.

On December 8, CCTA/CDTOA with the help of legal counsel finalized our letter to Gov. Brown asking for an executive order to halt CARB’s on-road truck and bus regulation – for up to two additional years. (See letter on page 9, CTN Dec 2011)

We sent out a Word document for members to modify for their own companies if they were interested in sending a similar letter to the governor. I’ve been told that the governor likes hearing things directly from the people, the voters, versus organizations like ours. We’ll see.

Whether or not you are now in compliance with CARB’s regulation, you can’t like what CARB is doing to your business, the industry and this state. They will never stop unless they are exposed, stopped and dissolved. Cap and trade and low-carbon fuels are next, equating to very high fuel costs, and this is all just around the corner. It will never stop!
