The Air Resources Board has several new and existing regulations designed to reduce emissions from diesel vehicles used in California in a variety of activities including on-road commercial trucks and busses; diesel vehicle idling; transportation refrigeration units (TRU); drayage trucks used at ports; construction; mining, other off-road; and other industries.

Additionally, Green House Gas (GHG) control strategies including requirements related to EPA SmartWay standards are soon to be requirements for diesel vehicles in California. The Diesel Vehicle Regulations will reduce the public's exposure to cancer-causing exhaust and other pollution from diesel vehicles as well as decrease the carbon footprint from diesel powered vehicles. The regulations require owners to report to ARB and then to retrofit, repower, or replace their diesel-fueled vehicles gradually over the next decade.

To assist these owners with their compliance efforts, ARB staff is conducting a series of training seminars on the regulations. These sessions will provide an overview of each regulation, compliance requirements as well as funding opportunity information.

Additionally, there will be summary “How To Comply" handouts, list serve promotions, an 866-6Diesel toll free call-in phone center, “Advisory" handouts, and fact sheet resources available at each training session as well as additional information on incentives and funding opportunities.
