CARB Unanimously Adopts the Truck Replacement Rule

  1. Delay the 3 truck and smaller fleet first compliance deadline by one year until 12/31/2013.
  2. Credit for vehicles retired on July 1,2008 or later. One retired truck gives a one year extension to another truck's compliance date.
  3. Relief in rural areas (to be defined later).
  4. A comprehensive report to the Board in 2009 with workshops and economic update and schoolbus status.
  5. Additional extensions for motorcoaches.
  6. Compliance courtesy inspections.
  7. Diesel strategies duty cycle conditions/guidance to consumers.

The 15-day comment period will begin in a March 2009 timeframe and the whole package will be completed by late October 2009.

The fleets of 4 trucks and more must begin planning immediately and we can be a resource.
