A large and lively crowd gathered in Woodland, CA for an afternoon of great food and fellowship as WESCO Trailer Manufacturing and Sales, LLC debuted their newest addition to a large line of construction bodies and trailers.

The MAGNUM 66 body uses a combination of high strength Docol and Domex steel in the upper body along with Hardox 450 wearplate for the floor and lower sides. A Mailhot hoist provides a smooth operating 45 degree dump angle for this 21.5 cubic yard semi-elliptical body. In order to reach a maximum GVW of 66,000 lbs. for California and 80,000 lbs. for other states, WESCO has selected “The Bridge Axle” manufactured by Pacheco Design & Development Corporation. The innovative new design and features convinced WESCO to include “The Bridge Axle” on the MAGNUM 66. Under the guidance of designer John Knapp, Pacheco Design & Development Corporation has used the latest in materials and technology to produce a unique bridge axle system. The terrain-following torque tube design and hybrid operating system deliver a highly reliable, low maintenance, stable solution to high capacity dump trucks.

Other events of the day included a tour of the shops and retail parts department along with a very well presented display of WESCO’s products. With over 40 years of building truck bodies and trailers in their history, there was quite an array of new equipment to examine. A brilliant blue set of transfers decked out in plenty of polished stainless steel and aluminum glistened in the afternoon sun. Rounding out the aggregate line was a four axle pup dump trailer capable of reaching a GVW of 105,500 lbs. when matched with a five axle dump truck. The flatbed trailers may have been overshadowed by the size of the MAGNUM 66, but they certainly contained all of the same high quality workmanship and materials. The glossy black 45 ft. air ride suspension all steel flatbed showed well with a number of optional features. A lightweight set of double hay flats was a great example of WESCO’s ability to listen to their customers by producing another industry leading product. Much like the MAGNUM 66, the flatbeds utilize innovation and technology to satisfy the need to be weight conscious while maintaining the “Built to Last” philosophy that WESCO is so well known for.

The McBride and Parreira families, owners of WESCO, put on an outstanding event with a very relaxed atmosphere. Along with them, their entire staff was very friendly and ready to answer all of the questions. Well, every question except “what was the spice in the green beans?”

We certainly hope that this Open House will become an annual event and that chef Danny Fialho is there to prepare another of his feasts.
