The High Desert Chapter held their annual Christmas Party on December 13th at the Green Tree Inn in Victorville. It is always a treat to get together to catch up on the past year, the pleasure of each other’s company, as well as throw in some fun and games to make for an enjoyable evening. We had some terrific raffle items: Cash donations, DVD player, CB Radio, oil changes, fuel, mag lites, gift baskets, emergency kits, travel cooler, gift certificates for local restaurants, jackets, shirts, hats, tools, trucking accessories just to name a few.

We were joined by our evening guests, Tom and Ann Pachman with G.A.S/Goodspeed Distributors and Jack and Mary Towne, CDTOA State Secretary. A few of our members, Chuck Gaylord, Joe Holmes and Ned Smith were recognized for their continuous membership with the Association for the past 10 years with an embroidered shirt.

Our sincere thank you to Service Rock Products, Vulcan Materials, Blue Diamond Materials, Inland Kenworth -Fontana, G.A.S Inc./Goodspeed Distributors-Hesperia, Arv’s Diesel Fuel System-Fontana, Benchmark Tires-Fontana, Cooley Construction- Victorville, Desert Truck Parts-Hesperia for their continuous support. As well as Judy Scott, Chapter Sec./Treas. for her assistance with the organizing and initiating of the games, and all our members that contributed generously with raffle items or participation.

In the spirit of Christmas giving, our members were asked to bring an item for the Hopeline Ministry, an organization that helps disadvantaged working families. Each year they seek referrals through churches and welfare caseworkers to select the families to receive the 110 baskets that are made up especially for that family. This year the need exceeding the 110 baskets because it was too hard to eliminate those who were as equally deserving. Marilyn at Hopeline Ministry wanted to express her wholehearted appreciation for our support year after year.

Hope to see everyone throughout the year at the various meetings, remember this is Our Association and it takes Everyone’s Involvement in some way or another to make it a success. Have a Safe, Happy and Healthy New Year!
