The California Highway Patrol (CHP) and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), have been partners in highway safety for decades.  This partnership has been seen in highway design collaborations; safety studies; corridor safety campaigns; chain control operations; and most visibly, highway construction zone safety.

I read this news release from the Govenator’s office Friday (Nov 2) and again today (Sat 3) and find it hard to believe that 110,000 of the 640,000 or 1/6^th or 17% (62,000 are said to be public education industry jobs) of all the jobs saved or created in the U.S. by the stimulus packages was right here in the same state where unemployment is 12.5% or more.
